Google Talk Conference

Philipp at Google Blogoscoped points out that the Google Talk iGoogle gadget now supports multi-user conference / group chats. People have been desperate for this since GoogleTalk was released so it's a welcome addition.

The fact that this hasn't been released as part of the downloadable GoogleTalk client seems likely to mean one of two things:

1. They're planning on abandoning the desktop client entirely.
2. (My vote) They're planning a major desktop client upgrade. One that perhaps supports IP-to-phone calls as was suggested earlier...
